DESCRIPTION:Dear colleagues and friends,\nIt is our great pleasure to welcome you to the Hip Congress Valdoltra 2026: Modern Trends in Hip Surgery – Hip Preservation and Primary Arthroplasty.\nHip surgery is undergoing a dynamic evolution. With rapid advancements in both hip preservation techniques and primary arthroplasty, today’s surgeons are challenged to remain adaptable, critically evaluate emerging evidence, and continuously refine their decision-making. This symposium aims to provide a clear and practical overview of the most relevant contemporary concepts in the management of hip pathology.\nThe scientific program is structured to offer a comprehensive and clinically oriented experience. In the first session, dedicated to hip preservation surgery, we will explore current indications and limitations of hip arthroscopy, supported by live surgical case, including arthroscopic access and labral repair. Additional topics such as conservative management of femoroacetabular impingement and periacetabular osteotomy will provide a broader perspective on joint-preserving strategies.\nThe second session focuses on primary hip arthroplasty, with a strong emphasis on modern surgical approaches and implant selection. A live demonstration of total hip arthroplasty using the direct anterior approach will be complemented by expert discussions on short and long stems, cementation strategies, hip resurfacing, and the evolving concept of same-day discharge.\nThe final session is dedicated to clinical cases and real-world decision-making, where experienced faculty will share complex scenarios, discuss diagnostic dilemmas, and present practical solutions. This interactive part of the program is designed to stimulate discussion and provide insights that can be directly translated into everyday clinical practice.\nThroughout the congress, particular attention will be given to evidence-based practice, surgical indications, and complication management, as well as to the balance between innovation and proven techniques. Our goal is not only to present new knowledge, but to offer clear, applicable insights that will support your clinical work and future development.\nThis meeting is especially tailored to residents and early-career specialists, while also providing valuable perspectives for more experienced surgeons.
